Mondrian Painting

He was a Dutch painter, who crated his art between 1905-1944. Mondrian was a contributor to the De Stijl art movement. He created a non-representational form of art which he termed neoplasticism. This consisted of a white background, upon which he painted a grid of vertical and horizontal black lines and used three primary colors. His art even inspired a Yves St. Laurent fashion line in the 60's, ski & cycling designs, architecture, shoe line, TV show logos, and music album covers.

To create you own Mondrian inspired work,

take some watercolor or another thick paper and tape off vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines with painters tape.

Use primary colors (red, yellow and blue)paint and fill in the shapes.

We're using a kid friendly washable paint.

After it dries, carefully pull off the tape.

You could create a gallery wall with these works of art!
